Pleasant Hill Hawks 13-14U Fall Program Update
Hi,
Kyle Gross and I are excited to work with current Hawks coaches, Erik Polzin and John Feil to put together and head up the Hawks 13/14u High School Developmental Fall Baseball Program.
We hope to execute a comprehensive fall program that will build into the spring season and ultimately prepare each player for high school baseball.
Tryouts will commence the week of August 12th and the first practice will take place the following week. The program as a whole will run from the week of August 19th through October27th.
The format of the program is as follows.
During the week we will run a comprehensive team practice where we will work on various team concepts such as cuts and relays, double cuts, rundowns, pop up priorities, baserunning, bunt coverages, and holding runners. We will also hit on these days.
On Saturdays we will play doubleheaders against current high school frosh teams and teams in their applicable age group. This will allow Hawks players to get familiar with the level of baseball they are working to get to and begin to familiarize themselves with the speed of the high school game.
Sunday mornings we will have Skill development sessions where we will work on individual skill concepts by position. This will take place from 8-9:15 am each Sunday. We will have one coach dedicated to each position (infield, outfield, pitching, catching).
Lastly, we will play in two tournaments in the fall to round out the game schedule. The primary coaches who will be involved this Fall as well as next Spring are the following:
