Jason Goldstone - Manager

Jason resides originally from Fremont, CA. He was a 2001 graduate of Irvington High School, where he played 4 years of varsity baseball and was a first team all league selection as a pitcher his junior and senior years. He went on to pitch for two seasons at Santa Barbara City College before hanging up his cleats and moving on to graduate from UC Santa Barbara. Jason is a 10+ year resident of Pleasant Hill, where he currently lives with his wife and two kids. He has coached baseball for the last 5 years at PHBA.

Fred Mathis- Manager

Fred grew up in Elk Grove where he played high school baseball for the Elk Grove Thundering Herd.  Following high school, Fred played baseball at Cosumnes River JC and finished up his playing career at San Francisco State University.  Fred has been a coach in PHBA for 10 years, including a couple seasons coaching his daughter in Panthers.  In addition to coaching, Fred has served as a PHBA Commissioner for the last three seasons and is now the Vice President of PHBA.  Fred resides in Martinez with his wife, daughter and son. Go Hawks!

Clint Bartizal - Manager

Clint is a Pleasant Hill local, who grew up playing for PHBA. At Berean Christian High School, Clint lettered 3 years in baseball and football and was a first-team all league 1st baseman. Clint went on to play his first two collegiate seasons at Patten University, where he was named the team's 2006 Freshman of the Year. Clint played his final two seasons at Concordia University in Irvine, CA. After college, Clint returned to the Bay Area and is now the general manager of Golden Gate Sign, his family-owned business. Clint resides in Martinez with his wife and three children.

11U- Tournament Team

Jeremy Weiler- Manager

Jeremy Weiler serves as one of our Hawks Commissioners and is also our new 9U Hawks Tournament team manager. Coach Jeremy needs no introduction, as he has been with the Hawks organization for the past 5 years. Jeremy grew up in Pleasant Hill & is a 1994 graduate of College Park High School. He was a three-sport athlete, lettering in football, wrestling & baseball. An All-League selection for both football & baseball, Jeremy represented the county in the summer of 1994’s the Contra Costa vs. Alameda All Star Football Game. Jeremy played football as a freshman at SFSU as a middle linebacker & finished his career at DVC earning MVP honors for the 1995 football team. Coaching has always been in his blood as he has coached at College Park, Pleasant Hill Rebels Football, PHBA, WC Bulldawgs and the Pleasant Hill Hawks. Jeremy resides in Pleasant Hill with his wife and two sons. The Hawks are fortunate & proud to have Coach Jeremy serve as both commissioner & manager! Go Hawks!

Tim Della Maggiore - Manager

Tim serves as one of our Hawks Co-Commissioners and is also the 11U 680 Hawks team manager.  He was born in San Jose and grew up in Modesto, CA, where he played baseball at Central Catholic High School.  After high school, Tim went on to Cal Poly and then pursued his passion in sports by receiving his Masters in Sport Management from University of San Francisco.  Tim has coached in PHBA for the 4 years and has served as a commissioner in PHBA in the past.  Tim resides in Pleasant Hill with his wife and two sons.  He has coached his sons in various sports throughout the years.

Rich Gomez - Manager

Rich was born in San Francisco and raised in Novato, CA. He lives in Pleasant Hill with his wife and two children. Rich has coached baseball with PHBA and Hawks for 10 seasons & has served as a PHBA Commissioner for the past four seasons. He’s coached a variety of other sports within his community & has a passion for baseball, helping develop kids towards greatness on and off the field. He believes that giving back to the local community and he will provide strength and support to all those that are a part of it.

Erik Polzin - Manager

Erik is in his 4th year coaching The Hawks and 9th year coaching baseball. Growing up in Bloomington, Minnesota, Erik was a three sport athlete playing baseball, golf and hockey. Erik played golf at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN where he was a 3-year Captain and team MVP. Erik has a specialization in sports psychology and mental performance and is passionate about inspiring players to give their best, playing with joy and respect for the game.

Kyle Gross
After moving on from professional baseball in 2006, Kyle began working with players of all ages in the Bay Area. In 2008, he was hired as the Pitching Coach at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill. DVC went to the State Championship in Kyle’s first year of work, while having three pitchers drafted in the top 15 rounds. After 4 years at DVC, Kyle accepted the Varsity Pitching Coach job at local College Park High School. College Park went on to win back to back NCS championships and has transferred 14 players into D1 baseball programs. Kyle owns and manages the West Coast Kings Baseball Organization which develops and mentors high school and collegiate baseball players in Northern California. The Kings have a storied history of tremendous success in preparing student athletes for their high school programs and collegiate baseball at all levels. In addition, Kyle has worked as the Pitching Development Instructor for the Pleasant Hill Hawks since 2015.

Justin Santich-Hughes
Justin Santich-Hughes, a native of Castro Valley, is a 2003 graduate of Castro Valley High School, where he lettered three years in baseball and was an all-league selection during his senior year helping his team to the North Coast Section semifinals with a school-record 26 wins. After graduating Castro Valley High School, Santich-Hughes was recruited to play baseball at then a top 10 baseball program in the country and recent College World Series participant, San Jose State University. After one season as pitching coach at Cal State Monterey Bay, Santich-Hughes decided to go to graduate school and at the same time applied for the Head Varsity Coach job at Acalanes High School for the 2010 season. In his first year at Acalanes, the Dons returned to the NCS playoffs for the first time since 2007 and went on to win four North Coast Section Championships in 9 seasons (2010-2018), while posting a record of 160-79-1 (.667 winning percentage). Over that span, the Dons had over 30 players go on to and play collegiately with 18 of those being at the Division 1 level.
